Community Awareness Day: (Be Ready Day)
The FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association sponsored a booth at Be Ready Day held in Birmingham's Linn Park on September 1st. FBICAAA alumni distributed internet safety information, Child ID kits, crime prevention information, and other FBI "goodies" to the thousands of children from the area schools that attended. Community Awareness Day is a day-long event featuring emergency responders, many state and local agencies and vendors. This was the 12th Annual Community Awareness Day put on by the Jefferson County EMA. The events of April 27, 2011 will be forever sketched into the minds of people all over Alabama. So many people stepped up and helped in a time when we needed it. These amazing people came together at Linn Park on October 6th to talk to residents of Jefferson County about what they did and how they came through when we needed it most.
