============== DETAILS ================

Exclusive opportunity for FBICAAA Alumni living in Madison County

FBI Citizens Academy alumni from Huntsville are being given an opportunity to receive CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training. This training opportunity is being made possible by the Madison County EMA and a local disaster response group, PAR (Prepare and Respond).

What is CERT Training?

The CERT program trains people to be prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. CERT members also can assist with non-emergency projects that help to improve the safety of the community.

What does the training cover?

The training covers disaster scene response, emergency medical situation triage (not First Aid), victim extraction, building assessments, fire control, and much more! The training culminates in a hands-on exercise to evaluate many of the skills that you attain during the course. After the eight weeks of training, you will be certified for CERT duties.

When is the course?

The upcoming CERT class begins July 9th. Classes are held from 6-8 pm each Monday night for eight weeks, and participants must be able to attend all eight sessions. There is no charge for the training. Training materials will be provided; however, you may need to acquire some items as advised by the instructor on the first night of class.

Who may attend?

This event is open to graduates of the FBI Citizens Academy and their guests age 18 and older. Participants must reside in Madison County.

How can I register?

Spaces are extremely limited, so reserve your place today! The deadline for registration has been extended until 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 5th.
